Steve Harvey is an American television and radio personality. He is an author, actor, businessman, and comedian. He is also the host of shows which are The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Family Feud, Celebrity Family Feud and the Miss Universe competition, and upcoming limited-run arbitration-based court comedy, Judge Steve Harvey.
He is also known as the best adviser, especially for relationships. He was born on 17 January 1957 in Welch, West Virginia. His family was very poor and his dad had earned only 5 dollars a day. That was so hard for his father to feed his three children and wife with only 5 dollars of one day's earnings.
He lives in Cleveland with his elder siblings and parents. When he was in grade one day the teacher asked all students that what they wanted to be in the future and Steve Harvey just share his dreams with his class he said that he wanted to be on television someday but his teacher said that he never be on television and entertainment industry because he had a severe stutter. People with stutter know what they want to say but it’s difficult for them to say.
He graduated from Glenville High School in 1974. He attended Kent State University. He returned to Cleveland and start doing what he wanted to do. Before stand up as a comedian he did a number of jobs which includes a boxer, an autoworker, an insurance salesman, a carpet cleaner, and a postman. Steve Harvey does many jobs and really doesn’t know what excites him. The desire of becoming successful and be on the TV don’t let him sleep.
At the age of 27, he stands up as a comedian. When in 1985 he won an amateur night contest at a local comedy club then he decided to focus on becoming successful in stand-up comedy. In 1985 he tried comedy at the Hilarities Comedy Club. At this point Steve Harvey was homeless. He slept in his 1976 Ford when not performing gigs that provided a hotel and he don’t have any bathroom and showered on swimming pools and gas stations and he used toilet stalls at hotel bathrooms.
Steve Harvey had a really hard time when he was homeless. When he quit his job he had nothing but 50 dollars which he won in one club. He once said when he quit his job on October 9 in 1985 he had nothing but 50 dollars. He said that he lost his friends. He lost his family but still never give up and he was also living in the car for three years.

“I was homeless. I lived in a car for a couple of years. That was the worst. But nothing was worse than when I was 40 and my mom passed away. My mother was the best person I ever knew. Those were the two lowest points.”

Rich and Becky Liss helped Harvey during this time with a contract for carpet cleaning and credit at a travel agency. One day call his mom and dad and ask them that can he come back home but his father said you can’t come back home. And his family put an answering machine for him.
One day Steve Harvey was considering giving up and instead of calling his parent, he check the answering machine his parents set up for everyone. On that answering machine, he found a message from Apollo comedy club inviting him to his show. The message said we saw a tape of you if you will come to New York Sunday night, this was a Thursday, come Sunday night, we gonna put you on TV. And this was the dream of Steve Harvey.
Steve Harvey took this opportunity and although he didn’t mean to fly across the country he found a way. At this point, Steve Harvey didn’t look back. By the early 1990s, he had become a headliner in well-known comedy clubs in big cities and he also appeared on TV on the 1990 Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search and that day his dream come true. In 1993 on cable TV network HBO’s Def Comedy Jam.
In 1994 Steve Harvey's success as a stand-up comedian led to a starring role on the short-lived ABC show me and the Boys. He later becomes a star on the WB network and the Steve Harvey Show. This show ran from 1996 to 2002.
The comedy act was later put together into a film by Spike Lee called “The Original Kings of Comedy”. Harvey is the host of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, a weekday morning radio program he has hosted since 2000.
In 2003 he also appeared in the movie “Fighting temptation”. In the same year, Steve Harvey get a role in the film “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”.
In 2004 he had roles in the film “Johnson Family Vacation”. In this year he also played a role in “You Got Served”.
In the year 2005, he co-starred in the movie “Racing Stripes” as the voice of the character Buzz.
In 2006 he released a special film name “Don’t Trip, He Ain’t through with Me” directed by director Leslie small.
In 2008 Steve Harvey hosted a Disney dreamer academy. In 2009 Steve Harvey released one book called “Act Like a Lady, Think Like Man”. In 2010 he hosting the most popular show called family feud. In 2012 the film “Think Like a Man” was based on this book. In December 2015 Steve Harvey hosted the Miss Universe 2015 pageant in Las Vegas.
He is a six-time Daytime Emmy Award winner, two-time Marconi Award winner, and a 14-time NAACP Image Award winner in various categories.
