He was encouraged to explore his interests and acquire a profound love for science and technology while growing up in a supportive and mentally interesting environment. This natural curiosity and desire to learn would drive his approach to entrepreneurship and creativity.

Bezos had long been attracted by the Internet's promise as a platform for business and innovation. He called his company Amazon after the world's longest river, indicating his aspiration to become the largest retailer on the Internet. On July 16, 1995, he founded Amazon.com, selling its first book to a customer in Germany.
Amazon soon rose to the top of the e-commerce world, luring millions of customers with user-friendly features like customer reviews, tailored suggestions, one-click shopping, and free delivery on orders over $25.
