Who is bill gates?
William Henry Gates is an American business magnate, entrepreneur, software developer, investor and author. He is the co-founder of a micro software corporation and his childhood friend Paul Allen. Microsoft is world largest personal computer Software Company.
Bill Gates was born on 28 October, 1995 in Seattle, Washington, US. His father was a lawyer and his mother served on the board of directors for the first interstate Bancsystem and the United Way of America. Bill Gates grew up in an upper-middle-class family. Bill was shy and quiet and love to read books for hours. He was an antisocial kid. Bill gates is the kind of person who believes if you are intelligent and know how to use your intelligence, then you can reach your goals and targets.
Bill gates was really interested in mathematics and he got 800 points on a mathematics intelligence test. He wanted to teach math but then his friend convinced him to pursue a career in computer programming.
When his parent knows him about his intelligence and abilities they enroll him in the lakeside school preparatory school. His parent wants him to pursue a career in law. Later the school administration decided to buy a computer from a general electric company. Bill Gates wrote his first computer program at the age of 13 and then he was in class eight on the GEC machine.
How he meet Paul Allen?
In this school bill gates meet his friend Paul Allen. Bill gates were in eighth grade and Paul was in tenth grade. Bill gates spend most of his time in computer lab than in class as working on a computer excites him.
In the school gates and Paul works together to find the bugs in the system belonging to the computer Centre corporation. In 1968 bill and his friend was so into computers and they form one group called the programmers group. Bill Gates and Paul were very good friends as their interest is same though they both are very different persons.
First company they made together:
The first company that founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen was called "Traf-O-Data". In 1972 they started this company, while they were still in college. Traf-O-Data was a partnership between the two, and it provided traffic analysis software for the transportation industry.
First product of Traf-O-Data:
The company's first product was a computerized system that could read traffic tapes from roadway counters and also create reports for traffic engineers.
What happen to Traf-O-Data when Bill gates and Paul Allen left?
When Bill Gates and Paul Allen went to university, they continued to work on their company, but on a part-time basis.They worked on the company during summers and other breaks from school.In 1973 when they graduated from high school, they both enrolled at different universities.
Gates went to Harvard University, but dropped out after two years to start Microsoft. Allen went to Washington State University, but dropped out in his second year to work full-time on Traf-O-Data.
However, Traf-O-Data did not get the big commercial success, and the company struggled to make a profit. Despite their efforts to market the system to traffic engineers and government agencies, they were unable to find enough customers to sustain the business.
After a few years of struggling, Gates and Allen decided to shut down Traf-O-Data and move on to other ventures.
Beginning of Microsoft:
In 1975 when Microsoft was first founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, the financial condition of the company was modest. The company Microsoft started with only $1,000 in capital and a few basic tools such as a computer and a printer. However, their initial success with Altair BASIC helped them to grow quickly and become a major player in the software industry.
In 1975 Microsoft released it first product which was a programming language called "Altair BASIC" for the Altair 8800 computer. This type of product helped Microsoft's establish it's reputation as a software company.
Microsoft released its second product in 1977, a FORTRAN language system for microcomputers. This product allowed developers to create software in the FORTRAN programming language on microcomputers, which was a significant advancement at the time.
Microsoft released its third product in 1978, a COBOL compiler and editor for microcomputers. This product allowed developers to create software in the COBOL programming language on microcomputers, which was also a major advancement at the time.
Over the years, Microsoft would go on to release many other products, including the Windows operating system, Microsoft Office, and many more.
