  • From 2007 until 2011, he was the senior vice president of research and development for the online services division, where he headed the engineering teams for Bing, MSN, and advertising platforms.
  • From 2011 to 2013, he served as president of Microsoft's server and tools division, increasing sales from $16.6 billion to $20.3 billion and increasing market share for products such as Windows Server, SQL Server, System Center, and Azure.
  • As executive vice president of the cloud and enterprise group from 2013 to 2014, he built Microsoft's cloud infrastructure and services business and helped it become a market leader.

Microsoft's CEO:

Nadella was appointed CEO of Microsoft on February 4, 2014, becoming the third person to occupy the role following Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. He also joined the company's board of directors. As CEO, Nadella has prioritized three areas: rethinking productivity and corporate processes, developing an intelligent cloud platform, and enhancing personal computing experiences.   • In 2021, Microsoft will pay $19.7 billion for Nuance Communications, a pioneer in conversational AI and cloud-based healthcare solutions, increasing Microsoft's capabilities in natural language processing and healthcare technologies.
  • Acquiring Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in 2022 (pending regulatory approval), making it the largest tech purchase ever and bolstering Microsoft's gaming aspirations.
  • Increasing Microsoft's revenue from $86.8 billion in fiscal year 2014 to $168.1 billion in fiscal year 2021, more than doubling it in seven years
