Nestle

Nestle is Swiss multinational food and beverage company. This ranked among the world's largest food companies. This company has headquartered in Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland. This company was founded in 1866 by Henri nestle. Nestlé's products include ice cream, frozen food, baby food, coffee and tea, confectionery, dairy products, pet foods, snacks, medical food, bottled water, and breakfast cereals. This company faces various criticism and boycotts for producing a formula alternative to breastfeeding and the promotion of bottled water also.

Early history:

The story of this company begins in 1866 when Angelo Swiss Condensed Milk Company launched the first European condensed milk in Switzerland. They begin to supply this to industrial towns and market it as a safe, long-life alternative to fresh milk. Next year German-born pharmacist Henri Nestlé produces ‘farine lactée’ which was the baby food and is a combination of milk and flour. On that product, he use the ‘nest’ logo. In 1875 Henri nestle sells his company to local businessmen. Later both swiss Angelo produces baby food nestle produces condensed milk both produce rival original products of each other.
In 1904 nestle started the production of chocolate for the first time and it takes over export sales for Peter & Kohler. In 1905 both companies became the competitors of others and both have more than 20 factories. In the same year, both companies merged. The company had two offices previously then they open a third in London for dairy export sales.

How company Survive during World War 1?

In the year 1914 during World War 1, there is a significant increase in the demand for chocolate and condensed milk but this war disrupts the production of companies. In the next year 1915, the demand for condensed milk increased and the army started giving this to their soldiers. This product is also easy to transport which makes it popular. With the increase in it makes that the company was working properly.
After the war army demands for condensed milk declined. In 1934 the company launched melted chocolate name milo. The company didn’t stop the production of baby food and in the same year, it launched Pelargon. On April 1 1938 the company launched Nescafe which is the powered exact of coffee beans it was easy to prepare and can be ready just by adding hot water in it. It was also predicted that this product will gain huge success.

Time of World War 2:

In 1939 World War 2 started and again it affects every market. This World War 2 slows the sales of Nescafe at the time when the united states enter this World War 2 nestle brand gained popularity among American service personnel. At the end of this WW2 in-country Japan and Europe, this product Nescafe was added to care supplies.

Time after World War 2 and onwards:

In 1947 the company acquired a Swiss brand Maggi which produces products like noodles and soups. After that product Nescafe, Nestle launched a new product “Nestea” in 1948. This can be served as both hot and cold. The company uses the same method as Nescafe to manufacture Nestea. Nesquik a powered for hot chocolate was also launched in the same year and this dissolves easily in cold milk also. Later on, nestle decided to move to canned food so they launched canned ravioli under Maggi. The huge success of this product caused nestles to produce more canned food. After success in milk, coffee, and canned food this company moves to frozen food to expand more. Later on, in 1962 buys Findus (a frozen food brand from Sweden which is the first seller of frozen food in Europe since 1945) and expand internationally.
In 1974 nestle the first time nestle goes out of the food line and become the main shareholder of cosmetics company L'Oreal which is the world's largest cosmetics company. In 1977 nestle buy Alcon Laboratories which was the manufacturer of pharmaceuticals. Later on, nestle go for mineral water and launched its first mineral water bottle in 1998. On 1 March 2010 nestle acquired Kraft foods which was the American frozen pizza business for the US $3.7 billion. Today it acquired many brands according to nestle “We have more than 2,000 brands, from global icons to local favorites.”

Garoto:

Garoto is a chocolate manufacturer company from Brazil. It is the largest chocolate manufacturer in the world from Brazil. This company has a headquarters in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo, Brazil. This company was founded in 1929 by Heinrich Meyerfreund. It was acquired by nestling in 2002 but still operates separately. According to nestle it produces more than 70 products such as boxes of chocolate, Easter eggs, tablets, and cooking chocolate. It evokes the taste of happiness and it is also the main childhood memory of many Brazilians.

The special thing about this company is that most coffee they provided comes from a single sustainable source. The majority stake of this company was acquired by nestle in 2017. According to blue coffee, they provided:
“Great coffee takes many forms. There is no one profile that we’re after, but we want every coffee to be delicious and, at times, provocative and unexpected.”

This is an Italian bottled water brand. It was first introduced in 1880. This is the world's largest water brand. According to them:

This was named after Villa Panna in the hills of Tuscany, where the first spring was discovered by the Medici family. It was acquired by nestle in 1999.
